PHOTOGRAPHS

The photographic collection in the National Museum of Denmark contains the photographs of Agner Møller in 1925-27, and those of Dr. Hagerups which are in digital format, Bente Wolffs taken in 1998 and Jesper Kurt-Nielsens in 2003.

Especially interesting are those of Agner Møllers, because they not only show important themes, but are also enhanced by the photographic qualities. Some of them have formerly been publicised, but have never been shown to the public before.
It is also important to emphasise that although the photographs have always been attributed Agner Møller, they were in fact taken by the talented Chinese photographer Ho Teng Lin, who sold them together with the original plates to Dr. Møller, who acted as the representative for the National Museum of Denmark.

DR. PHIL. HAGERUP:

The danish botanist travelled to Nias in the beginning of the 20th century, he brought home, among many other things, photographs to the Botanical Museum.

JESPER KURT-NIELSEN:
Systematically photographed village structure and architecture in 2003. The expedition was funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Danida.
